We breed very small finches , such as red siskens which are endangered . So we truly don't want to lose birds , but we do get lazy parents sometimes. So when we have to resort to hand feeding we have to use syringes. As you know the mouth of such birds are very tiny and even the smallest syringe can not work for them. They basically drown in food. These teats allow you to place the tiniest droplet of food in their mouths. Giving them time to swallow it without choking them. It has literally saved over 50 of our birds over the years.
