One of my customers contacted Harrison's on how to dose small birds like finches and canaries.
Here is their response:
Booster Concentrate is a waxy substance and will not dissolve in water. However, you can crush the pellets to make administration easier.
Finches can be a bit more challenging to treat, so I recommend crushing one individual pellet between two spoons to create a fine powder. Use half of that powder to top dress your finches’ food each day.For best results, apply the powder to a moist food—such as a small portion of chopped greens—if your finches will eat it. Moist foods help the powder stick, ensuring it's consumed.Portion size is very important to ensure each bird gets the proper dose. I suggest using a portion of chopped greens roughly the size of a green pea per bird per day. So for two birds, that would be two green pea-sized portions of chopped greens daily lightly dusted with the powder from ½ of a single Booster Concentrate pellet.
